A JEWEL IS FOUND......CHÂTEAU CHEVERNY....

This Château is located in Sologne and was once the home to Diane de Poitiers (twice no less, given her ousting from Chenonceau by Catherine de Medici) this girl was busy with real estate in the 16th century!

It survived the Revolution and there is no question that this is an enchanted palace!

The architect also worked on Chambord and Blois using a stone that becomes lighter in colour and hardens with age....results are truly glorious! See for yourself.......

The interiors found here are beyond most in detail and every room was breathtaking!

Did you know that it was Louis XV who decided to place table forks with their prongs facing downwards as he was tired of snagging the lace on his sleeves....

How can you not be spellbound by perfection....each room took your breath away!

All this to then walk the peaceful gardens with tea in The Orangery built in the 18th century to keep the orange trees under shelter. Also during the Second World War part of the nations art treasures found refuge here including the Mona Lisa.
