This was a Cèrémonie Officielle de la Libération de Bayeux year and homage was paid to their libérateurs.
Spent a number of hours walking through the British War Cemetery which is the largest war cemetery in France. Moves one to tears to see 4,000 grave stones, ages and tributes in addition there are 1,800 names engraved on the monument for whom a resting place was not found.
